About me
I am a freelance photographer from Banbury in Oxfordshire. I am available for work in Banbury, Chipping Norton, Burford, Didcot, Abingdon, Oxford, Witney etc - Oxfordshire and all around neigbouring counties (I will travel further dependant on the job!).
I have been taking photographs with an SLR camera - and more recently a Digital SLR camera, for over 20 years. I learnt using a fully manual camera, that to be honest I don't think I totally understood when I was 12! A few years ago I obtained the kit for developing black and white film images and I have not looked back. Today, my bathroom is no longer a darkroom and I use some of the best high end digital SLR equipment.
My main love of photography is sporting events, I love the way a photograph can capture just a fraction of a second but tell a story of the moment so well. This translates well into weddings and portraits where the best photographs are often not staged or set up. Photos that when you look back 10 or more years later you will feel you're thrown back in time.
My style of wedding photography is therefore more "modern reportage" than traditional, I take pictures of the day from what I see, using my skills to be in the right places at the right times. I then take care over every image and spend a lot of time painstakingly editing each and every photo to get them just right and adding to the original image.
With portrait sessions I like to try and give you more than one image. Some photographers take 99% of their images in the same fashion with the same lighting setup and the same pose. I'll try more than a couple different lighting set ups and styles to give you a variety of images and all my work includes a number of prints and print options.
When people see my photographs they always tell me I should do it for a living, so here we are!
